Due to the popularity of the workshop, we may be repeating it periodically in your area. We realize that our schedule is not convenient for everyone. We select our locations based on a number of factors, including agent population and interest. If you would like to suggest a date and location, please do so — especially if you know of a group of agents who would like to attend the workshop. Knowing about such interest would be quite helpful in our planning.
No, the workshop is only certified for classroom training. In addition, experience has shown that students get more value and benefit out of classroom discussion in which questions are raised that cannot be anticipated in a correspondence format.
Believe it or not, personal jewelry presents an excellent opportunity for cross-selling into commercial lines. Why? Because business owners are the people who can afford fine jewelry and spend money on jewelry purchases. If you do a good job advising them about jewelry insurance, — and take time to learn about their other insurance needs — you might have the opportunity to write new commercial business with them. Don’t discount the possibilities that could arise from selling personal jewelry insurance.
Yes, this workshop is available for groups of 25 students (or more) by special arrangement. Keep in mind, however, that the workshop content is structured so as to provide 8 hours of Continuing Education Credit. If interested, please contact us directly.
No, our specialty is jewelry and inland marine insurance. Keep in mind, however, that some jewelry (up to certain limits) is covered by a typical homeowners policy. Jewelry tends to be an under-appreciated topic, but the industry-wide consequences of jewelry losses and claims are enormous. People who purchase fine jewelry seem to become quite attached to their valuables and can greatly benefit from the value-added service an agent or CSR provides.
To date, we have only offered the workshop during the normal business week. If you would like to organize a group of students (25 minimum) for a weekend date and location, we would be able to work with you — please contact us directly.
Obviously, we prefer to know who will be attending the workshop ahead of time. But we also realize that situations arise in which last-minute arrangement are made. Yes, we allow last-minute walk-ins, but do require that they bring a check made out to JCRS in the amount of $125. Be sure to also have your Social Security Number and License number handy, as these are required for reporting C.E. credits.
